Roanoke College’s new Virginia license plate is ready to order now. Showing off the beauty of our campus and the Blue Ridge Mountains with a pictorial, this design takes a much bolder approach than that of other colleges. The new design replaces the old one, which used an outdated logo.
The annual fee for the plate is $25 (in addition to registration fee).
Those with the old plate design can either upgrade by reordering or continue using the old design.
Proceeds Support an Important Scholarship
Out of the $25 annual fee, $15 dollars returns to Roanoke College in support of an important scholarship. The License Plate Grant is designed to increase freshman-to-sophomore retention rates and keep attendance affordable for selected Virginia residents. Award amounts typically range from $500 – $1000. The grant helps bridge the tuition gap between the first and second years of college, when families have the most difficult time adjusting to college expenses and tuition increases.

What an awesome idea! My plates are due for renewal in July and I am definitely getting one of these. The scholarship program makes it even better!
can u still apply for the license plate grant?
My plates were due for renewal, so I have traded in the old RC plate for the new plate. It looks great on the car and the money goes to a great scholarship program.
